Today I again went down to Strumpshaw Fen – Birds Reserve. I signed in a membership form, donating monthly £5. I was given the RSPB Handbook of British Birds.
Also, as a member I can visit any RSPB for free. Normal entrance fee is about £3.5 (depend on reserve).
Today I took really lovely pictures of Robin and some pictures of Marsh Harrier. I hope one day I will take a better quality pictures of those predators.
A few days ago on internet I found information about Hickling Broad NNR (National Nature Reserve). I was really surprised when I realised that the reserve is about 5 minutes of driving from my work (at Trend Marine). I didn’t let me wait too long and on last last Friday I went down there to see what there is to be seen. Unfortunately it was a very quiet and almost dead place. During almost two hours of walking I found only a few crows, ravens, seagulls and an almost a mile away I saw marsh harrier but it was too far to take a sensible picture.
On the end of my walk I sat down near the reception and I took a few nice photos near a bird feeder:

This morning I senselessly spent couple hours at Marriott’s Way near Costessey, on my favorite bridge, siting on my folding chair and trying catch any nice bird photo. I didn’t take anything!

My usual birding place
A little angry I came home and I started to look for information about best birding places in Norfolk. Continue reading My First Visit in Strumpshaw Fen – Birds Reserve
